Douglas fir wood has a special charm. Its warm, honey-colored tone and striking grain emphasize the unique character of any room. Small black knots give this softwood an individual touch. As a solid wood plank, Douglas fir is suitable for use in all living areas.
Color honey-colored to red-brown in the core area, moderate sapwood content white yellowish
Characteristics long fibers, high resin content, slightly beveled all around, small black knots, as well as dry cracks up to 2.5 mm wide are permitted, knot diameters of firmly grown knots up to 1/5 of the plank width measured on the narrow side are permitted. Open resin galls, broken knots or knot holes are filled with putty or replaced with a knot plug
